Sunday, we spent the afternoon at Reimer's Ranch, in the Pedernales River. This is one of the parks I use to work at. The river was pretty low, but the weather was very nice. We found craw dads, baby catfish, snakes and frogs. Caleb was the only one who walked around the river bottom barefoot the whole time! There was a small area where the river dropped a bit between some rocks, so it made somewhat of a 'water fall' and a pool at the bottom. The boys thought it was great to start at the top of the 'falls' and let it push them down.
Caleb and I after I pulled him out of the pool without his water wings; me explaining to him he needs his water wings and also to yell help if he is in trouble...
Everyone in the river by the boulders.
The family.

Before we left, we had a hike through the climber's canyon and visited the cave there too.
On the way home, we ate at Bennigan's, which I don't think we ever have in our marriage together yet. We were leaving and this little Garfield looking cat came out from behind at trash can and rubbed all over the boys legs and started playing. He was a very friendly little guy. He definitely was a stray- oil on his fur, burs on his tail, very bony, no collar etc. The thing is, we lost Lily a couple weeks back. She just disappeared. We've been bummed about that. While at Reimer's we saw the old Impala by the goat pen that Lily was born under (she and her siblings were taking from the park when I worked there) and it was sad to have that full circle effect. As soon as we saw this guy, Veronica smiled at me and my thought was God is replacing Lily for us. Anyway, he is home with us now. Currently behind the dryer. His name is Bennigans and he seems really cool. This picture doesn't do him justice but he is very soft, with a looong tail. He has huge front paws, so I bet he will be big. He also puts the dog in her place too. That is a plus!
