More musings and updates from Joshua...

Just a couple things to mention.
I give glory to God and His answer to prayers. The other day, Sunday, I began asking a specific few for prayers of healing for me. It would be day 6 of my illness come Monday. The only thing I was suffering the last couple days, was digestion issues and weight loss, but it was bad. Come Monday, all was gone. Just like that. Really. Of course all during my sickness, I had asked people to pray for me and I meant it, but Sunday I was thoroughly serious about it and was asking thoroughly serious pray-ers to pray for my healing immediately. I was about to go to a doctor, I was to the point of needing to, but to me it's a testimony to God that He healed it before I ever got there. Amen. I'm glad to be well again and gaining weight back. My appetite is back for sure, and then some.

The other thing of note is now that I am better, I have been doing many of things I wanted to do last week and over this past weekend, but couldn't. Included in that is registering my assumed name for my business. We just went and did that as a family. It's amazing how simple it is to do something like that, and a little scary too. A small amount of money and one can register just about anything without anyone asking for credentials, at least on my level of registering. Owell, it's done. Fishers of Men(Aquarium Services) is officially open for business. The courthouse visit was totally like a movie. "Hi, I am here to register a fictious business name." "Well, first go to 'Records' and do a search to see if your chosen name is available. It's down the hall and to the right. Then come back and we'll do our part." 'Records' was the next door down. I bet the ladies in each area even know each other and speak occasionally by the candy machines. The lady in records said, "Tell them in 'Registering' you passed my test. 'Registering' is down the hall to the left." Of course that was right were I was to begin with. Ha Ha. At least it wasn't go upstairs, fill out Form 1040NOTEZ, then to the basement for notary, then back to the 3rd floor for Form JumpThroughThisHoop1MoreTime, then back here for payment and a reciept, though it was close to that. Ben was being a ham with the 'Registering' ladies. That was funny.
Next, is to open a business checking and then start spreading the word I suppose.

The garden bed has been expanded. We now have 109 square feet of planting area. That is more then double what we had. I still need to haul in some dirt, which I am thinking will be this weekend. Also the back fence has been tore down and will shortly be replaced with livestock wire. This gives us a nice, open view of the "creek" behind our house as well as, allow more sunlight to hit the garden each day. Our recently planted pear tree has it's first budding leaf on it. I guess we are doing something right so far.

Still Learning...

So it looks like one can upload videos on this thing too. That's cool. We have some choice one's to share, including this one of Ben yelling at the camera. This was about 2 weeks ago or so. I am still working on getting better. Actually everything is alright exact my digestive tract. Something is in there reeking havoc after each meal, no pun intended. This is day 5 I think. I have lost 10 pounds already, which is scary as there is not much of me to remove. I guess if things don't have marked improvement tomorrow, I will see someone about this. Springtime seems imminent. It's nice and warm, the yard is greening and wild flowers are emerging. This is the time of year when a violent, unexpected ice storm blows through too. 75 degrees for days, then everything is an ice cube for a day or so. I'm thinking not this year though; this winter was pretty weak and short. The trick is when to put in a garden? Enjoy the video. More to come.

Corn in His Nose

So we were eating dinner and I stepped away from the table for a little bit. When I came back Caleb informed me that he had stuck a piece of corn in his nose. We tried blowing it out and he tried picking it out to no avail. I was prepared to take him to the ER for minor surgery. I figured we could try the tweezers. It took some doing and Josh had to hold him down but we finally got it out! We then had a long talk about why we don't stick things in our nose! Oh the joys of little boys!

So I find that while I'm sick last night, my wife has created a blog thing for our family. That's cool. I'm still not well, but I am bored of laying in bed, so I figured I would try this too. I don't know how often I will actually update this, as this is more Veronica's thing than mine. Anyway, maybe some friends will get a laugh out of it and it helps pass the time while I get well. So, umm... not sure what you talk about on these. Here are some pictures of my two stinkers I've always liked. Here is one of my wife too. It speaks volumes.

Maybe we should have named him John...

I was looking at a picture of Caleb from a few months ago and his hair was so long! He really looked like a Beatle! It even looks like he is singing! I think it was after I took these pictures that I realized he needed a hair cut. Poor child! He is quite the big boy these days. We were at church and afterwards some middle/high school age kids were playing football in the front lawn and he walked right up and asked the biggest boy if he could play too! They were very gracious and let him catch and throw and run the ball. It was very cute. I guess he is getting over being shy!
Ben too is Mister Personality. Caleb was at school and Josh was working so it was just he and I eating lunch at home. He was insistent on me eating what was left of his peanut butter sandwich that had been smashed in what was left of his 3 strawberries. He held out the mushy mess with his chubby little fingers and said, "AHHH!". For some reason that was such a special moment. Something very funny about the baby trying to feed the mommy. I took the bite and he had the biggest grin on his face! He walks all over the place and is starting to work on running and stepping up and down, like out the front door. He is learning words like juice, dog, momma, dada, wow (my favorite). He is like a sponge.

Josh is working on trying to start up a buisiness. I'm very impressed with the amount of thought and effort he is putting into it. He had all these plans to get his license today to offically start the company, but he is sick. At last measure his temperature was 100.8 and he hasn't moved from the bed, except when he moved from the couch to the bed, almost all day. Hopefully it isn't the flu. It has been so bad this year. It's peculiar timing because I was scheduled to work almost 50 hours this week, but I will be calling in tomorrow so I can watch the boys. C

an I say how very not upset I am about that!
Work has been very busy and stressful. It's the time of year when all the patients are very sick. I'm looking forward to spring and hopefully a lightening of the load a little bit. Two hospitals have opened in the last month not too far from us so that should help to. I'm working into my new role as charge nurse. I don't do it every time I work, mostly I'm still on the floor, and that is a good thing. It really is tough! Keeping so many things organized and working well at the same time. I feel like one of those plate spinners trying to keep everything spinning without breaking anything. It is a challenge and is helping me grow, so that is good. They tell me I'm doing a good job but I still think that one day they will come in and say never mind! We were just kidding!
So that's what's up with us! Everyone is finally asleep so I think I will go take my place on the couch away from the sick hubby........

Trying something new

So I've heard about blogging and a friend of mine "blogs" and it's neat to be able to keep up with her family that way, so here we are. Also I tend to be poor at expressing things in spoken words and I find writing much easier than speaking. So we will see how I do with this experiment.
